Motor oil giant Valvoline has expanded its Formula 1 presence, announcing a new multi-year strategic partnership with the BWT Alpine F1 Team.
The American heritage brand, which is celebrating its 160th anniversary in 2026, will become Alpine’s official global team partner.
Starting at the Pirelli Italian Grand Prix, Valvoline branding will appear on the Alpine cars driven by Pierre Gasly and Franco Colapinto, and across the wider team environment.
The partnership strengthens Valvoline’s engagement in F1, as it is also the official lubricant partner for Aston Martin Aramco.
This reinforces F1 as an important platform in its global racing strategy, according to Michael Kirtman, Chief Brand Officer, Valvoline Global Operations.
“Motorsports has been part of Valvoline’s DNA for more than a century, and F1 represents one of the world’s most influential stages for performance, innovation, and competition,” said Kirtman.
Our partnership with Alpine reflects our continued investment in the sport and our commitment to connecting with fans and customers through world-class racing. We look forward to building a strong relationship with the team while continuing to expand Valvoline’s presence across the highest levels of global motorsport.”
Valvoline is the latest major commercial partner to join Alpine, following the signings of MSC Cruises and fashion powerhouse Gucci, which is set to become its title sponsor from 2027.
As Alpine is also a Mercedes customer team, the technical aspect of the partnership with Valvoline will likely benefit them on track as they look to maximise competitive margins over rivals.
“We are delighted to welcome Valvoline as a new Global Team Partner. We share a deep passion for innovation, engineering excellence, and competition,” said Guy Martin, Global Marketing Director, BWT Alpine Formula One Team.
“Alpine F1 team’s performance-driven environment provides the perfect platform to push the boundaries of technology. We look forward to working closely with Valvoline and building a long and successful partnership.”
