Louise Young, Formula 1’s Chief Race Promotion Officer, is leaving the sport after more than eight years to become MotoGP’s new Chief Operating Officer.

Young joined F1 in a legal capacity before moving into race promotion, where she rose to lead the sport’s global promotion strategy, working directly with governments, promoters and stakeholders on delivering grands prix at scale.

She stepped into the Chief Race Promotion Officer role in early 2025, overseeing the relationships that determine how and where F1 lands its calendar each year, from the festival-style build-up around individual races to the long-term planning behind them.

Young’s work saw her named on the inaugural Sector50 – a list of the 50 individuals who have had a defining impact on the commercial side of the sport over the past twelve months.

At MotoGP – now, like F1, owned by Liberty Media – her experience will translate into a broader remit.

As Chief Operating Officer, Young will take charge of race promotion, events, operations and ESG functions across the championship, giving her oversight of the same kind of promoter relationships she managed at F1.

Her move is one of four senior hires MotoGP has announced as part of a leadership rebuild.

Ryan Norys joins as Chief Commercial Officer from Tottenham Hotspur, Sameer Pabari becomes Chief Media Officer after two decades across the NFL and Denitza Batchvarova takes the Chief Strategy Officer role, arriving from TKO Group Holdings.

“These appointments are an important step in building the team that will help shape MotoGP’s future,” said Carlos Ezpeleta, Deputy Chief Executive Officer of MotoGP.

“Ryan, Sameer, Louise and Denitza bring hugely valuable experience from leading sports and entertainment organisations that will strengthen our commercial, media, operations and strategy capabilities.

“Together with our existing team, they will help us deepen our connection with our fans, reach new audiences and create new opportunities for our existing and new commercial partners, building on the strong foundations of the sport.”
