The Atlassian Williams F1 Team and Komatsu have extended their partnership, deepening a relationship that first began in 2024 and adding technical collaboration to the pair’s existing work together.
Under the renewed agreement, Komatsu becomes Williams’s Official Hydraulic Innovation Partner, drawing on its expertise in construction and heavy machinery, including a history of developing components for Williams’s 1996 and 1997 World Championship-winning cars.
James Vowles, Team Principal at Atlassian Williams F1 Team, tied the extension directly to the team’s approaching anniversary and its wider ambitions on track.
“After three successful seasons together and a relationship which dates back to our last Championship-winning cars, it is fantastic to be expanding our partnership with Komatsu as Atlassian Williams F1 Team approaches its 50th anniversary,” he said.
“The relationship with Komatsu is truly special and embodies our approach to working with partners who share our values, believe in our journey and can help deliver success on and off track.
“We look forward to taking the partnership to the next level in 2027 and beyond.”
Komatsu branding will remain prominent across the team’s car, garage, kit and Fan Zone activations.
The company will also continue engaging its workforce of more than 67,000 employees across 151 countries through the partnership, including its Day in the Life programme, which gives selected staff the chance to work alongside Williams’s pit crew during a race weekend.

A new Komatsu Williams Leadership Academy will launch in 2027, aimed at exchanging engineering knowledge and leadership practices between the two organisations.
“Komatsu has always believed that the greatest engineering advances come from tackling complex challenges alongside trusted partners,” said Takuya Imayoshi, President and Chief Executive Officer of Komatsu Ltd.
“Our relationship with Atlassian Williams F1 Team has been built on a shared commitment to perseverance, collaboration and authenticity, values that have connected our organisations for decades.
“As we deepen this partnership, we are creating new opportunities to exchange knowledge, develop future engineering talent and accelerate the ideas that will help shape the next generation of technology.
“This is a natural extension of Komatsu’s commitment to engineering excellence and our ambition to create value for customers and society through innovation.”
Beyond the technical side, the two organisations will continue investing in young talent through the Komatsu Williams Engineering Academy, launched in 2024, which has supported two cohorts of participants through mentoring, e-learning and factory visits.
From 2026, Komatsu will extend that support to Williams’s F1 Team Driver Academy, adding branding to cars competing in the junior series.
