F1 to bring three-day 2027 season launch spectacle to Milan

Formula 1 President and Chief Executive Officer Stefano Domenicali has said the sport is continuing to “push the boundaries” after announcing F1 Live Milan, the sport’s next collective season launch event.

Confirmed on Friday for 18 to 20 February 2027, the event replaces the single-night format used for F175 Live in London two years ago with a three-day programme.

It splits into two distinct strands: the Milan Fan Festival, running throughout the event, and F1 The Show, a one-night spectacle on 18 February bringing together drivers and Team Principals from all 11 teams alongside music and entertainment.

F175 Live was streamed across 37 global territories and drew 7.5 million viewers to its live broadcast when it launched the 2025 season at London’s O2 Arena.

Domenicali framed the expanded Milan format as a continuation of that ambition rather than a different concept entirely.

“We are always thinking big and pushing boundaries, and F1 Live Milan is going to be an incredible experience created with our fans at its heart,” he said.

“We want them to feel that they are not simply watching the sport, but they are truly immersed in it.

“As F1 continues to reach new audiences around the world, racing will always be our soul, but we also want to create unforgettable experiences that bring the excitement of Formula 1 to life on an even bigger scale and continue to explore what is possible.”

Milan’s selection follows weeks of speculation that had already settled on the city as the likely host, given its proximity to Monza, the historic home of the Italian Grand Prix, and the country’s broader association with Scuderia Ferrari HP.

Domenicali pointed to that connection directly, along with the personal significance of hosting the event in his home country.

“Building on the extraordinary success of F175 in London, F1 Live Milan will transform the city into a Formula 1 festival for three unforgettable days, bringing people together from across the globe to celebrate everything they love about our sport,” he added.

“I know my fellow Italians will offer a fantastic welcome to fans travelling to F1 Live Milan and I cannot wait to see the city come to life with Formula 1 energy, creating memories that will last a lifetime.”

A separate F1 Showcase event for media and partners will take place on 17 February 2027, offering an early look at the year ahead.
