Real Madrid, the most decorated club in European football history, have partnered with the TAG Heuer Spanish Grand Prix ahead of its MADRING debut next month.

The agreement brings Real into Formula 1’s newest race as a Local Event Supporter for the inaugural event, which takes place from 11 to 13 September.

Real arrive as the only club to have won 15 European Cups, alongside a leading position in global brand value, social media following and valuation, giving MADRING one of the most recognisable names in world sport for its debut weekend.

It follows another strong first look at the circuit itself.

MADRING hosted its first competitive running on 24-25 August, when all 30 Formula 3 drivers tested the new venue over two days, with the track’s character and challenging layout drawing praise despite 19 red flags across the sessions.

Real’s involvement centres on a genuine coincidence of geography rather than a straightforward sponsorship tie-in.

The club’s 120-hectare training complex in Valdebebas, home to its men’s and women’s first teams, academy, basketball team and the Alfredo Di Stefano Stadium, sits just 200 metres from the circuit’s northern entrance.

That section of MADRING runs through Valdebebas and includes La Monumental, the track’s most distinctive corner, a 547-metre, 24 per cent gradient turn.

The proximity means selected Real Madrid facilities will be incorporated directly into the Grand Prix’s operational arrangements over race weekend, expanding MADRING’s capacity by making use of venues that sit almost next door to the circuit itself.

Real will also have a presence in several MADRING hospitality spaces throughout the weekend, with club legends and other prominent figures expected to attend.

For MADRING, the appeal is straightforward as it aligns with one of the most recognisable and widely followed sports institutions in the world, deeply embedded in Madrid’s civic identity, as the circuit stages it’s debut Grand Prix.

Real is not the first major Madrid football club to take on this role.

Atlético Madrid signed a five-year agreement to become a MADRING Local Event Supporter in November 2025, with their Riyadh Air Metropolitano stadium hosting the Grand Prix weekend’s main concert and serving as a hospitality and shuttle hub to the circuit.

Real’s arrival now places both of the city’s biggest football institutions inside the Grand Prix’s commercial structure.
