Gucci has appointed Tancredi Vitale as Vice President of Gucci Racing, the platform the fashion house launched in May alongside its title partnership with the Alpine Formula 1 Team.
Vitale joins from Venezia Football Club, where he served as Managing Director, and takes up the role on 1 September.
The appointment sits within a partnership announced in May that made Gucci the first luxury fashion house to become a title partner in F1.
The deal ends Alpine’s five-year title partnership with BWT and will see the team enter the 2027 season as Gucci Racing Alpine Formula One Team, with paddock estimates putting the agreement’s value at roughly $55 to 60 million per year.
Gucci framed the appointment around Vitale’s background in sports and apparel rather than motorsport specifically.

“Vitale’s international experience, strategic vision and deep knowledge of the sports industry will be invaluable as Gucci develops this new venture and unlocks the full potential of Gucci Racing as a global platform,” it said in a statement.
Gucci Racing itself was positioned at launch as a standalone business and experiential platform, rather than a conventional sponsorship arrangement layered onto the existing team.
Vitale brings more than a decade of experience in sports apparel to the role, having spent over 13 years at Nike’s Portland headquarters across a series of senior leadership positions, following an earlier spell at adidas.
At Gucci Racing, he will work alongside Giovanni Perosino, who has led the venture since launch as Senior Vice President, Gucci Racing, alongside his existing role as SVP of Marketing at Gucci.
The hire is one of the first major appointments from outside Gucci’s existing business brought in for a specific role at Gucci Racing, rather than an internal executive adding the brief to an existing position.
