Pirelli will remain Formula 1’s exclusive tyre supplier through to the end of the 2028 season.

The FIA exercised its option to extend the partnership by mutual agreement with F1 and the Italian manufacturer.

The extension covers the F1 World Championship, Formula 2, Formula 3 and F1 Academy, with Pirelli having been the sport’s sole tyre supplier since 2011.

Stefano Domenicali, President and Chief Executive Offiver of F1, said the extension reflected confidence in Pirelli’s role as the sport enters its latest regulatory era.

“We’ve enjoyed an incredible history and partnership with Pirelli, relying on their technical brilliance and focus on performance, innovation, and sustainability for many years,” Domenicali said.

“Pirelli’s commitment to quality gives all the teams and series it supplies peace of mind as they know they are working with some of the most advanced tyres in the world,” Domenicali said.

The extension also reflects Pirelli’s own ambitions for the partnership, with the company pointing to Formula 1’s role in driving innovation that extends well beyond the racetrack.

Marco Tronchetti Provera, Executive Vice Chairman of Pirelli, pointed to the technical milestones reached during the company’s tenure.
