Formula 1 teams might be on an extended break with races called off in the Middle East, but they are still working hard to gain an edge over their rivals.

Work continues to find extra seconds in lap time and to optimise car setups, while F1 and FIA technical chiefs work on resolutions to prevent energy management from taking over the show.

Amid the break, several teams are now advertising for electronics-related roles supporting race operations, R&D, and car builds.

The Aston Martin Aramco F1 Team is looking for an electrical technician who can oversee building and manufacturing through to servicing and repair. They will also support both race car installations and factory test rigs, keeping engineering programmes running at peak capacity.

Separately from the listing, Aston Martin is also advertising for a manager to oversee day-to-day operations in its electronics workshop. The advert also states that they will play a key role in ensuring compliance with FIA regulations.

Both Oracle Red Bull Racing and the TGR Haas F1 team are seeking a senior electrical design engineer to lead the specification, design, and integration of their complex electrical systems.

The Cadillac F1 Team is advertising for an electronics systems designer responsible for the design of on- and off-car electrical system installations, as well as monitoring the vehicle control system calibrations trackside.

Given the increased focus on active aero with this year’s regulations, several teams are also still advertising for roles in aerodynamics.

The Atlassian Williams F1 Team is advertising for a senior aerodynamicist to join and develop solutions for their current and future race cars.

The Audi Revolut F1 Team is also seeking a CFD methodology engineer to support its computer simulations. While this position is based in Hinwil, the team notes that its Audi Motorsport Technology Centre, based in the UK, is currently in its launch phase.

There is also an opportunity to join Red Bull’s aerodynamics team as a senior aerodynamics engineer or aerodynamics development team leader, with key responsibilities including leading car development.
