The TGR Haas F1 Team has announced a partnership with Toho, bringing the Godzilla franchise into Formula 1.
The collaboration will see Godzilla integrated across Haas team assets, alongside a series of fan engagement initiatives timed around the Aramco Japanese Grand Prix at Suzuka.
While the visual crossover between F1 and one of cinema’s most recognisable characters is eye-catching, the deal reflects a more strategic push from Haas to deepen its presence in key international markets.
“This is truly an extraordinary opportunity to showcase our brand to new audiences, and it’s a first for both TGR Haas F1 Team and TOHO,” said Haas Team Principal Ayao Komatsu, who hails from Tokyo.
“It’s an honor to bring a global icon such as Godzilla to this sport and activate across an important year for the franchise. We want our fanbases to combine and celebrate with us, as there will be lots to engage with this season.”
The activation is expected to centre around the Suzuka race weekend, where Haas will leverage the partnership across content, branding and on-site experiences designed to increase visibility in the region.
For Toho, the partnership represents a move into live sporting environments, extending the reach of the Godzilla franchise beyond film and into global events with large, engaged audiences.
“Godzilla has come to represent indomitable power and resilience, a spirit that deeply resonates with the TGR Haas F1 Team’s determination to constantly break through barriers,” said Keiji Ota, Senior Managing Executive Officer and Chief Godzilla Officer at Toho.
“Through this collaboration, get ready for Godzilla to rampage on the world’s fastest stage. We promise to bring an unprecedented experience that will excite fans of both Godzilla and the TGR Haas F1 Team all around the world.”

The deal also highlights a broader trend across F1, where teams are increasingly turning to entertainment and intellectual property partnerships to stand out within a crowded commercial landscape.
As sponsorship categories continue to diversify, culturally driven collaborations such as this provide teams with a way to create distinct moments around race weekends, particularly in markets where local relevance can amplify global exposure.
For Haas, the partnership may not add performance on track, but it offers something increasingly valuable off it: a way to capture attention in a sport where standing out is becoming just as competitive as racing itself.
The timing of the deal aligns with the upcoming North American release of Godzilla Minus Zero in November 2026, giving the partnership a clear promotional window.
