The Atlassian Williams F1 team has continued a rapid commercial build-out this week with the announcement that Barclays will join the team as its Official Banking Partner in a multi-year agreement.
The deal adds further depth to a run of new partner announcements from Williams in the past few days – spanning asset management, cyber security, lifestyle and AI – underscoring how the team is broadening its commercial base even before the 2026 season gets underway.
Under the agreement, Barclays branding will feature on the FW48 and across Williams’ wider activation programme, while the financial institution will work with the team on tailored engagement opportunities for clients and stakeholders across the global F1 calendar.
Barclays’ involvement reflects a wider trend of major financial services firms tapping into F1’s global platform to deepen relationships with key business audiences, using sport as a way to reinforce trust, connectivity and shared brand values in high-performance environments.

“We are delighted to welcome Barclays to the team as our Official Banking Partner,” said James Vowles, Williams Team Principal.
“Williams continues to build a commercially diverse partner ecosystem ahead of the 2026 season, and Barclays’ global footprint and financial expertise will support us both on and off the track.”
The deal also sees Santander’s tie-in with Williams end after a single season, with the Spanish bank continuing as a partner of F1 itself.
“We would like to thank Atlassian Williams F1 Team for their work, professionalism, and commitment during the past season. We wish them success in the future,” a Santander spokesperson told Marca.
For Barclays, the collaboration aligns with its own ambitions around premium experiences and client engagement, granting the bank visibility at races and connecting it with Williams’ audience and corporate stakeholders.
The announcement follows a notable run of partner additions from Williams in recent days, including Anthropic as its Official Thinking Partner with AI agent Claude, BNY as Official Institutional Banking Partner, Nuveen as Global Asset Management Partner, and Wilkinson Sword as Official Men’s Grooming Partner.
Taken together, the sequence of announcements points to a deliberate commercial pattern from Williams – building a partner portfolio defined by distinct functional roles across technology, finance and lifestyle, rather than traditional broad-brush sponsorship titles.
