The final entry in our 12-day festive countdown feature revisits Mickey & Friends making an appearance on the Las Vegas Strip to launch Disney’s partnership with Formula 1 in the most memorable – and magical – way.

Disney used the Heineken Las Vegas Grand Prix weekend to stage one of the most ambitious entertainment-led collaborations seen in modern F1, launching its multi-year Fuel the Magic programme with a live, fan-focused activation designed to blend F1’s race spectacle with Disney’s storytelling heritage.

Positioned at the heart of the Strip, the centrepiece came at the Fountains of Bellagio, where Mickey Mouse fronted a specially produced post-race show featuring music, choreography and pyrotechnic effects.

The performance was designed to mirror Disney’s live-entertainment style within the context of a grand prix weekend, reinforcing F1’s growing role as a broader cultural event rather than simply a sporting competition.

Mickey was joined across the weekend by Minnie Mouse, Donald Duck, Daisy Duck, Goofy and Pluto, all appearing in multiple fan-facing moments including pitlane walks and live entertainment segments.

Ahead of the race, the Disneyland Band performed the national anthem on the grid, marking one of the clearest integrations yet of a partner brand into a core F1 broadcast moment.

Alongside the live elements, the collaboration extended into retail and lifestyle. A Disney x F1 merchandise capsule was introduced at the F1 Las Vegas Hub, featuring apparel and accessories designed to appeal beyond traditional motorsport audiences and reflect the growing overlap between F1 and global consumer culture.

Emily Prazer, Chief Commercial Officer of Formula 1 and President and Chief Executive Officer of the Las Vegas Grand Prix, said the project is built around shared values rather than short-term spectacle.

The Fuel the Magic program brought two iconic brands together to give fans of all ages a race weekend filled with creativity, entertainment and a touch of magic.

“Our collaboration with Disney builds on a shared passion for storytelling, innovation and creating memorable moments,” she said.

“As we look ahead to the global Disney’s Mickey and Friends and Formula 1 launch in 2026, the Fuel the Magic program brought two iconic brands together to give fans of all ages a race weekend filled with creativity, entertainment and a touch of magic.”

Las Vegas was a deliberate choice for the launch. The event has positioned itself as a global showcase that extends far beyond traditional race formats, combining high-end hospitality, live entertainment and mass-market spectacle.

Disney’s programme aligned closely with that concept, turning one of the most recognisable venues in world entertainment into a brand platform while maintaining a clear connection to the race itself.

The activation demonstrated how modern F1 partnerships are becoming more experiential and culturally led, moving beyond signage, logo placement and typical sponsor integrations.

Instead, Fuel the Magic reflected a model where partners bring their own creative identities and audiences into the sport, supporting F1’s ambition to continue widening its reach beyond core motorsport fans.

For F1, the collaboration also fits into a broader entertainment strategy that has seen the championship increase its presence across live events, film, music and lifestyle sectors.

Meanwhile, for Disney, it represents access to a fast-growing global platform with an increasingly young and engaged audience.
