Banco Santander, an Official Partner of Formula 1, has been confirmed as a Founding Partner of the TAG Heuer Spanish Grand Prix, set to take place in Madrid from 11 to 13 September 2026.

Under a multi-year agreement, Santander will strengthen its presence in the Spanish sporting landscape through an elevated role at the event, supporting official content, fan activations and exclusive customer experiences alongside its broader global F1 partnership.

Juan Manuel Cendoya, global head of Communications, Corporate Marketing and Research at Santander and Vice Chair of Santander Spain, said the agreement aligns with the bank’s ongoing strategic ambitions in sport and customer engagement.

“This agreement is a natural step in our commitment to Formula 1,” he said.

“Madrid is such a vibrant, thriving city, and the bank wants to support this world-class event and offer our customers unique experiences as we do at the Grands Prix in our core markets, which generate significant economic impact for the host cities.”

Santander’s involvement in Formula 1 spans nearly two decades, including sponsorships of race events and teams such as Scuderia Ferrari and McLaren, and the bank has been an Official Retail Banking Partner of the sport since the beginning of 2025.

“IFEMA Madrid is delighted to welcome Santander as a Founding Partner of the Spanish Grand Prix. Having a partner of this calibre is essential to driving forward an event that will mark a turning point in the history of F1 in Spain,” said Jose Vicente de los Mozos, Chairman of the Executive Committee of IFEMA MADRID.

The Spanish Grand Prix joins F1’s expanding calendar of races that attract global commercial interest, with Santander’s involvement underscoring the continued appeal of the sport to multinational sponsors targeting both local and international markets.

Santander’s role in the Spanish Grand Prix builds on its broader F1 partnership, which has included trackside branding and fan engagement initiatives across multiple markets since 2025.
