Right Formula has appointed James Allen to a newly created president role, strengthening its senior leadership team as the consultancy group continues to expand its Formula 1 offering.

The appointment follows Right Formula’s recent acquisition of Crunch Communications, which broadened the group’s communications and strategic capabilities.

Together, the moves underline a push to build a more integrated advisory platform as demand for specialist support across elite sport continues to grow.

Allen will formally take up his new position as President, Formula 1 in February 2026, reporting to Right Formula Chief Executive Officer and founder Robin Fenwick.

In the role, he will oversee the group’s top-level marketing and communications activity, including strategy, creative, PR, digital and content delivery.

This is the right moment for me to bring my subject matter expertise, relationships and experience to help the agency move to the next level.

“I have known Robin for over 15 years and have huge respect for him, his senior team and Right Formula,” said Allen.

“They have great people and I can’t wait to get started. F1 has evolved significantly in the last five years under Liberty Media and it is poised for a new phase of growth. The 2026 F1 season will be transformative for the sport on many levels.

“This is the right moment for me to bring my subject matter expertise, relationships and experience to help the agency move to the next level.”

Allen brings more than 30 years of experience across journalism, broadcasting and commercial roles within motorsport, including senior positions with ITV Sport, BBC, Financial Times, and ESPN.

He joins Right Formula from Motorsport Network, where he spent eight years in senior leadership roles, most recently as President, Motorsport Business.
