Several top Formula 1 teams are looking to strengthen their aerodynamic departments ahead of the sweeping regulation changes coming in 2026.

Under 2026 guidelines, the cars will be lighter, smaller and more agile in a bid to improve the spectacle, with active aerodynamics playing a key role in how teams race each other.

Drivers will be able to switch between a ‘Z mode’ that opens the elements on the front and rear wings to increase downforce and cornering performance, and ‘X mode’ to reduce drag and improve straight-line speed.

The big regulation reboot represents an opportunity to catch up with rivals, with a number of F1 teams advertising job openings in their respective aerodynamic departments.

There will be a huge overhaul of F1’s sporting regulations from 2026. FIA

Oracle Red Bull Racing is currently recruiting for Aerodynamics Engineers at both senior and junior levels to work at their Milton Keynes base, according to job postings on LinkedIn. Sister outfit Visa Cash App Racing Bulls F1 Team is also advertising for a Senior Aerodynamicist based in Milton Keynes.

F1 has heavy restrictions on aerodynamic testing in-season, with teams that finish higher up in the constructors’ championship having fewer hours in both the wind tunnel and limited Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) simulations compared to those who finish at the bottom.

This is to ensure a level playing field, enabling those further back on the grid to catch up with those at the front. These restrictions are reset midway through the year based on the championship order.

CFD plays a major role in validating aero concepts away from the track, and Scuderia Ferrari HP is on the hunt for a CFD Methodology Engineer based in Maranello, while the Aston Martin Aramco F1 Team is looking for a Lead Wind Tunnel Control Systems Engineer for its Silverstone base.

Below is the full list of aerodynamic-related job openings in F1 teams as of November 2025.
