Mercedes-AMG Petronas F1 Team has strengthened its ties with Meta after announcing Meta AI as a new Official Team Partner ahead of the MSC Cruises United States Grand Prix.
Having already partnered with WhatsApp, Mercedes will now utilise Meta’s artificial intelligence tools to bring fans closer to a race weekend by working with other products developed by the company to enhance engagement with Formula 1.
In announcing the deal, Mercedes explained that Meta AI will be able to analyse strategy, create albums of race-day imagery and video, and review highlights from earlier races.
“Partnering with Meta AI introduces new capabilities that support how we think, prepare, and perform as a team,” said Mercedes Team Principal Toto Wolff.
“The ability to process data more efficiently and uncover deeper insights is a valuable asset in a sport where success is determined by marginal gains. It’s a natural fit to work with a partner who shares our commitment to continuous improvement and precision.”
Meta – which also owns Facebook, Instagram, and Threads – will see its Meta AI branding featured on the top of the race helmets of George Russell and Andrea Kimi Antonelli, both confirmed as Mercedes drivers for 2026 and beyond earlier this week.
“Bringing Meta AI to Formula 1 with Mercedes means fans can engage with the sport in smarter, more personalised ways – right from the apps they already love,” said Meta Chief Marketing Officer and Vice President of Analytics, Alex Schultz.
“As an F1 fan myself, I’m excited to see how people use AI to get closer to the action and connect with the sport like never before.”
